Unique Patented Bb/F Compensating Double French Horn by Josef Lidl

Unique Patented Compensating French Horn by Josef Lidl
I sell this very unusual vintage F/Bb French Horn made in a master workshop Josef Lidl in Czech Republic. The factory was established in 1892 and always produced high quality musical instruments in a limited numbers. For this reason are instruments by Josef Lidl relatively rare and you will not see them often. High workmanship, limited series, custom production. It describes Josef Lidl's factory.
This is a compensatating double French Horn in F and Bb made by Joseph Lidl Brun Czech Republic. This horn features 4 rotary valves, but it is the configuration of the change valve which makes this design particularly interesting. The trigger for the 4th valve operates a long rotary valve which re-routes all of the crooks at once. While the wrap of the valve slides on Lidl are different,  I am inclined to believe this is a variation of the Carl Geyer design (which was different from the horn that he produced in Chicago -and also produced by Knopf in Germany where it was known as the Wunderlich model. The action of the 4th valve is especially fast and the horn plays beautifully.

Mechanical condition
Despite its age is the mechanical condition of this horn superb and the instrument is in a fully working order and in playing condition.
Valve caps can be unscrewed and there is nothing stuck. All slides and also main tuning slide are free and can be easily pulled out. Valves are working and returning back to position. The big valve of compensating system also works good.
All stop corks are new and made from a synthetic rubber.

Cosmetical condition
The state of this French Horn is almost clean and without big damage. Of course, due to the age of the instrument, on the body are located some small dings, scratches and few tiny rusty dots (it is a raw brass - you can clean most of them). Please look on photos carefully. I tried to capture the overall condition of the instrument on photos.
Please note, this instrument is raw brass (no lacquer). It has more overtones and plays easily, but it needs to be sometimes cleaned.
It was used. You can expect a state of normal wear and tear.
